I made this photo during a weekend trip to Yosemite, where we gathered to celebrate my birthday with our very close friends. The last morning we decided to hike up to Vernal Falls to capture this view before the sun went up too high above the mountain, making impossible to photograph this scene.
It is a massive 317-foot waterfall. The water on high speed is crushing and polishing the rocks, shaping these unique forms. The small 1/5 second exposure was enough to smooth the water a little bit and make these massive stones to stand out.
