We were hiking down the valley in a complete fog. We knew there's a mountain peak somewhere in the clouds, but there was no hope it would clear out.
When we turned and got back on the trail, wading our way back to the car, the clouds cleared out in front of us, proving this stunning view. I quickly set up my camera on my tripod and started shooting. It is one of those moments when you almost forget about focusing, shutter speeds and all that crap, and you just keep pushing the shutter release button. On my 5th or 6th shot, I realized I forgot to focus...
The trees in the foreground provide an excellent sense of the scale of how enormous and dramatic these mountains are.
